An article published in PARADE magazine in Feb. 2009 states that children who have parents that have healthy eating habits are more likely to be healthy eaters themselves as they get older.
While grocery shopping, be sure to choose low-fat, low-cholesterol foods that contain low amounts of sodium and sugar. Be sure to stock up on fruits, veggies, and whole grain baked goods.
While at home, watch portion sizes, always eat at the dining room or kitchen table, and do not watch TV while eating.
