Kids' cereals pour on the sugar and sodium

A new study reveals that cereals targeted to children contain markedly more sugar and sodium than those made for adults, reports USAToday.

The study, conducted by Yale University's Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, found that kids' cereals contain 85% more sugar and 60% more sodium that adults' cereals. Kid's cereals also contain 65% less fiber than adults' cereals. The worst offenders . among them, popular cereals such as Lucky Charms, Cap'n Crunch, Trix, and Reese's Puffs . are often those that are most heavily advertised. Many cereals with poor nutrition ratings also have health claims on the box.

Drinking water could curb obesity
