“Once the stress increases, hormone levels increase,” said Walsh to ABC News in an interview, citing research that found people experience rising levels of stress while living in cluttered environments. “The result of that is that you start to overeat.”
Walsh’s book details how to approach de-cluttering your fridge, which can be helpful with not only helping you find the foods you want, but making it easier to cook at home. In addition, he spoke about the importance of de-cluttering your pantry and closet.
“When you step in (your closet), I want you to feel like, (I love) every single thing in here, it fits me, and people compliment me on it,” said Walsh.
