Is your schedule so busy that you rarely find time to exercise? Or, do you currently exercise but have become frustrated with your workouts because you’re not making weight-loss progress? If so, changing your entire schedule to fit in morning workouts could be the next big step you should take to jump-start or accelerate your weight-loss journey.

Exercising first thing in the morning is associated with numerous health benefits, including higher metabolism, improved insulin resistance, and more effective fat burning. Plus, exercising early in the morning can provide you with an energy boost that lasts all day long so you can truly focus on other tasks without having to worry about fitting in a workout.

Interested in making the switch to becoming a morning exerciser? Here are three ways to get started.

1. Prepare yourself the night before

If you’re working out first thing tomorrow morning, take a few minutes tonight to get everything ready for your morning workout. Lay out your workout clothes, pack your gym bag, and charge your iPod. Get all your smoothie or breakfast ingredients ready to go, and fill up all your water bottles. Do whatever it takes the night before to get ready for your morning workout so you can simply wake up, use the bathroom, brush your teeth, and go!
